Swimming Sisters Finished

I finished the Swimming Sisters wonky star quilt! I used orange for the binding and a little bit of aqua too. I was inspired by this quilt and this quilt! I cut the binding strips 2 1/2 in. instead of my usual 2 1/4 in. just too see if I like it a bit thicker. It's okay but I think I'll stick with a thinner binding.

It is smallish but still big enough to snuggle under.

I used a vintage sheet for the back. I thought the colors went pretty well together.

I don't have much to say today, so I'll just throw in a couple more pictures for the heck of it.

and another. Have a great day!

What a pretty little finish - good job. I'll have to try 2 1/4" binding. 2 1/2 is a bit too thick, isn't it? Just never thought to cut the strips smaller.

Very nice. I'm curious, when you do a 2-1/4" binding strip, do you do a 1/4" seam when attaching the binding? I always do a 2.5" binding strip, but then attach it to the quilt with a bit more than a 1/4" seam, like a 3/8" seam.

Love it, and how lovely that you used a vintage sheet for the backing. I might have to do that for my next quilt. Thanks for that inspiration! :) xo Heather

I love your Swimming Sisters so much, Erin! When I saw the little thumbnail on flickr, it looked like the top two stars have happy faces in them. I can still them, even in big. CLEARY a happy quilt!
