Do You Want Some Scrumptious?

I got this gorgeous stack of Scrumptious from Simply Sweet Fabric.
Right away I started playing with it! I love all of the fabric lines that Bonnie and Camille come out with. This one might be my favorite so far. I really love the shade of aqua they used this time. It's minty and very pretty.

This is my favorite from the prints that I received. It has a vintagey feel and the flowers are really pretty. I have to get more of it. Like, a bolt would be nice, don't you think?

Of course, the bias stripes are AWESOME! They are great for binding but I think they are really looking great in the blocks I am making with them too!

Yes, all of these prints are my favorite! Just had to show them here grouped together. I could play with fabric all day, really!

These are the blocks I am making with them.

Here is a instagram picture of the blocks I have made so far. I am really good at taking bad instagram pics :)

So, When I got my fabric from Shay, who owns Simply Sweet Fabric, she sent along a stack of 14 Scrumptious fat quarters for one of you!!! Is that not awesome?!

To win these 14 Scrumptious Fat Quarters! Just leave a comment below. I'll pick a winner using Random next week Tuesday morning, October 29, 2013.

If you want some Scrumptious now, visit Simply Sweet Fabric for yours. The bundle is HERE!

I used this pattern for the basic cutting sizes but I changed it just a little to get the plus looking center.

So each block has:
16 ~ 2 1/2" background squares (white) four for each outer / corner square
  1 ~ 4 1/2" center square
  4 ~ 4 1/2" outer corner squares
  4 ~ 4 1/2 x 2 1/2" outer rectangles
  4 ~ 4 1/2 x 2 1/2" inner rectangles

It Wasn't My Birthday

Often times I just don't know where to begin when writing a blog post. This is one of those posts. Because I know that I can't really express in words how very happy a few of my quilty friends made me feel this past week. I was Charise's recipient in the Strawberry Pincushion Swap. The package she went me was so incredibly wonderful! Here's what went through my head when I opened the package....oooh, that's pretty paper, there's a lot of stuff in here, oh, there's glass, oh what is it?, it's a strawberry top, it's a strawberry bottom, oh goodness, it's a vintage strawberry dish (FYI Charise told me it's a 1950's Hazel Atlas milk glass jelly jar). I start jumping up and down with excitement. Then I open the Strawberries. Squeal!!! They're even prettier in person as is the berry basket! so petite and adorable. She also included the cutest vintage strawberry tea towel. I'm like, no way, this is awesome. Then I saw the last package and I start to open it. I'm all like, is it? no. is it? no. Wait. Oh my goodness, IT IS!!! IT IS!!! Charise sent me one of her beautiful pouches. When I saw these on her blog my heart skipped a beat. I am thrilled that she gave me one of them. This pouch is gorgeous! It has the perfect prints, beautifully crafted and the cutest little strawberry zipper pull you've ever seen.

Gina, asked for my address so she could send me a little hostess appreciation gift. I thought, wow, that's so nice. When her package came I was blown away. She sent me two adorable strawberries, and the most gorgeous hand embroidered tea towel. Really, the embroidery is extraordinary. It amazes me when I see skill like this. I don't have that. They are like the cleanest most perfect little stitches and yet you can tell it's handmade not machine embroidered. Completely gorgeous! She has some beautiful pictures and one of the back of the tea towel on her blog. She also sent some other sweet little goodies. Some vintagy strawberry fabric, some felt strawberry cut-outs. A cute card and it was all wrapped in pretty baker's twine (I get excited by things like pretty baker's twine).

Renee sent me a hostess appreciation gift too! She sent me the cutest strawberry that has patchwork that looks like stamps sewn onto it. I love it! She also sent me the most beautiful strawberry pillow. I gasped when I unwrapped it. Each strawberry is hand quilted differently. Then she hand quilted around the outside of each one. The stitches are superb. The prints she used are beautiful. She even added rick rack to the edges!!! I love it so much. I keep staring at it. Just all of the little details...swoon.She also sent me the sweetest little card that was taped on with pretty floral washi tape (I get excited by things like pretty floral washi tape).

With each of these packages my toddler kept asking if it was my birthday. So cute! It really felt like it was. Thank you Charise, Gina and Renee, for sharing your gifts with me. All of you are so incredibly talented. I know the time and thought that went into each of these packages and I truly appreciate that! Your above and beyond generosity has really touched my heart.

xoxo Erin

Some Honeysweet for You!

It's Friday!!! My very favorite day of the week. How about a little fabric giveaway to get this weekend started?! The very generous Fat Quarter Shop is offering this beautiful Moda Jelly Roll of Honeysweet by Fig Tree Quilts to one of you lovely readers.

I am in serious fabric love with this line. Joanna Figueroa is such an incredible designer. She is one of my very favorites! I'm going to let you in on a little quilt nerd moment I had, okay?. Last year Fat Quarter Shop sponsored another fabulous giveaway for Joanna's California Girl line. Well Joanna Figueroa commented on that post.   On.My.Blog.   Yeah, I totally saved the e-mail notification in it's very own special folder. Dorky, I know. But how exciting is that?

I've asked you before what you like to do with a jelly roll. Fat Quarter Shop has a new pattern out called Jelly Roll Jam! It's so cute and perfect for using those pretty Jelly Rolls! The pattern is free and there are also many more free patterns on their site here.

Here's a link to the Fat Quarter Shop's video for the Jelly Roll Jam pattern. The very lovely Kimberly of FQS shows you how to make the quick quilt! I am loving these Fat Quarter Shop videos.

Okay, so to enter just leave a comment below! That's it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I will pick a winner by Random Number Generator next Friday morning 10/18/13!

Feel free to share! It's always much appreciated!!

Strawberries!!!

The Strawberry Pincushion swap is going great and I am so pleased. I've not hosted a swap before and it has been quite fun. There are some beautiful makes happening in the flickr group. This is what I sent out to my recipient.

I made these and then ...

made this one last night. You can never have enough strawberry pincushions, right?

I used plain ol' felt for the leaves and wool felt for the flower. Then added some french knots. The hanger is a cotton crochet lace.

I was going to originally make a patchwork strawberry but it didn't look like it did in my mind so I scratched that for now although I want to work on one like this sometime. (whoa, run on sentence much?)

This one was just 'cause.. a super duper teeny strawberry!

I just want to say Thank You to all the ladies who joined in!!!

xo Erin
