Meringue Quilt

Good morning! Today I'm sharing this quilt I made using Fat Quarter Shop's new book Cake Mix Quilt Book and Miss Rosie's Cake Mix Recipe packs.

I used a Flower Mill layer cake for my quilt.

I chose the Meringue Cake.

They were fun blocks and each paper from the cake mix papers made two at a time.

I made a smaller version for my quilt and only included the aqua, pink, red and grey fabrics from the fabric line.

I think it turned out so pretty!

This was super simple to sew together and the cake mix book and papers would be fun for a beginner to use too. They help you make such precise pieces like the half-square triangles.

I used the multi-colored gingham stripe from Flower Mill for the binding. I am so happy about that! It's the perfect binding print.

I used a grey Bella Solid for the backing and I stipple quilted it!

This was a super fun quilt! Thanks to Fat Quarter Shop for asking me to sew along!

Happy Sewing!
xo Erin

So pretty Erin! I have a few of those Cake Mix books and have yet to open them 🤔 I should add that to my short to do list!

I have loved this quilt from my first sighting and now that I know that it can be made with a CakeMix I’m very excited to get going. Your many photos are very inspiring and I’m trying to decide on which fabrics to use for my quilt. Thanks!
