I follow on Facebook. My last layer cake, I did the Layer Cake Quilt A long on Material Girls site, and had a gorgeous bedspread to give my great nephew for his first birthday. I usually make twin bedspreads out of layer cakes, there are a lot of cool ideas on Missouri Star Quilt Company's site.

Hi Erin, I'm following Southern Fabric on IG.
I've never used a layer cake although I do have two. We don't have anything big planned this summer, still have senior year of DD's college to pay for. We will take a trip to Lancaster and later to Assateague Island. I'd live there if I could!

I hope to finish some quilt projects that i already started, but will be happy if I can get thru the boxes! I've wanted to make a quilt with layer cake squares - I think it's called a Square Dance Quilt. I tried with charm squares but they are too small! Thanks for the chance!

I'm a facebook follower of Southern Fabrics. I'm learning to knit. I know it's not sewing and quilting, but it's so portable. I'm also doing lots of gardening this Summer. Also a new learning experience.

My favorite thing that I've done with a layer cake was the granny square quilt block. It made quite a few of those blocks and when alternated with solid blocks made a good-sized quilt :)
