I found my Farmer's Wife book and blocks and I will be working on those when I can. I'm really excited to see my quilt come together.
When I was unpacking my fabric I found this old quilt top I made a few years ago. I think I'll finish it for a fall table topper. I can't wait for fall. It's my favorite season and I am so looking forward to seeing what it will be like around here.
So far other than a few set backs we are loving it here. The countryside is beautiful and the people have been friendly. We've met several neighbors and one of them even brought us some absolutely delicious heirloom tomatoes. Probably the best tomatoes I've ever tasted. I'm a sucker for a good tomato and mayo sandwich. Our little garden is doing well and we have had yummy crookneck squash with supper several times already.
My cucumbers are wonderful and pole beans are growing like crazy. My beets didn't do well but that was because a little deer friend of ours found them. So no pickled beets for us this year. But this was just a "for fun" garden since we started it so late. I'm excited for next year's garden!
Girls, girls, girls. I have been trying to visit your blogs. My reader says you have posts. When I click on your blogs the little thing on the url bar just spins and spins. I waited 20 minutes for a blog to load the other day and nothing. Nada! It's crazy. I can't wait to have faster internet. I hope you all have been well and getting lots of good sewing in! I wish I could see what you've been up to!! I'd love to know what have been working on. Talk to you soon!

What a thrill to find a post from you! It sounds as if you are all settling in beautifully and I'm happy to hear that sewing time is now being found. :) And yes, I think we all tell ourselves that we don't really have much fabric and only moving would bring us back to reality. :) Happy sewing and we will all be here when you are able to pop in for a visit! You should know that your little Birdie quilt brings a smile to my face every day and thus I think of you and send a little prayer that all is well.
I was so excited to see we have the same machine, gives me hope I can one day make quilts as beautiful as yours
Yay!! So happy you get to start sewing again!! Such beautiful projects! Your squash looks great! Happy sewing sweet friend! xo Heather
So glad you're up and going again...and love that little topper you're working on. Can't wait to see more.
Ooooh, have fun! I too sat down to sew at my machine for the first time in a month. It's almost surreal!
Those falls are amazing. Growing up, we used to go up to our family house in rural Massachusetts. It was so beautiful there. There are a similar set of falls there. Your post makes me want to visit there again.
:)
Where did you move to? It looks beautiful!! Happy sewing!!!

no matter how big or small a new sewing space is pretty exciting....just getting to look at everything you have again must be fun. so glad that you are getting more settled and enjoying the new place. that waterfall is amazing...seems like a place you only dream about or see in movies. faster internet will be good!!! lately i have been quiet on my blog, just adjusting to some changes on the homefront....but i have been sewing and quilting all the same...finished a few small quilts and am working on blocks for a husband quilt.
You woke me up! Your post is so full of excitment.....hurrah for a new adventure.
Ha, ha, I now exactly what you mean about having a fabric problem! I was just laid off from my job and was sad that I could no longer feed my fabric addiction... until I reviewed my enormous stash!
I have the same machine, too. Glad that you have it back! Love the quilt top you're making a fall table topper out of. Looks like you live in a beautiful area!
I must be psychic...I was just thinking I miss seeing your little birdie quilts and I was wondering what happened to you. Glad you are back!
Oh, I miss the scenery in that part of the world! We used to live in North Carolina and would take our RV up into the mountains for get-aways! West Virginia is gorgeous!
I'm glad you have your power back!
Erin! Welcome back ! I have missed your beautiful posts : ) So glad you are settling in and are loving your new home. Blessings
