Little Ruby Quilt Along ~ Part One

Hello Quilty friends! Today I am so excited to announce that Fat Quarter Shop is kicking off their newest Quilt Along, Little Ruby! This gorgeous quilt, designed by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms, was made with their FREE pattern and the Little Ruby fabric collection by Bonnie & Camille. You can use any fabrics you would like for the QAL.

Here is one of the Jelly Rolls I'm using.

Here is the background fabric (aqua dots), backing fabric (whited with pears & cherries) and the binding fabric (red gingham)! I love the way they look together! I am attempting to make the bonus quilt too! That is what the back stack of fabric is for.

The quilt is really pretty! I've made this block several times for quilts in the past. But the construction of this quilt is much faster than the way I made mine before. This time I'm using the Creative Grids rulers that are suggested in the pattern.

These are the two Creative Grids rulers that were used to make this quilt: Creative Grids Hexagon Trim Tool and Creative Grids 60 degree Double Strip Ruler, which need to be purchased separately from the quilt kit.

Here is the schedule for the quilt along below:

  Quilt Along schedule:
5/30/16 - Part One: Getting Started (Fabric Requirements & Cutting)
6/13/16 - Part Two: Star Blocks
6/27/16 - Part Three: Quilt Assembly
                                                         7/11/16 - Finished Quilts!

  1. Girl you are busy with your quilt alongside! I love this one! I may try it later. I'm doing a Vintage Picnic quilt too and picked the exact same fabrics for the backing and binding!
