I made two bags using my friend Heidi's tutorial HERE. I used some scraps of fabric from the Swell line from Urban Chiks that I had received from Angela years ago. I have been saving them for something. I thought I might use them for a ticker tape quilt but then the more I looked at them I thought I might be able to actually get some decent size squares from them.
I played around with them and then used the same measurement on all of them to get 2 half square triangles from each pair of light/dark charm scraps for a total of 30 HSTs!!! I left them on my design wall for a few days playing around with different layouts. Not satisfied with any of them. After I made the first bag (below) I decided to use the Swell hsts to hold my precious Sweet fabric. It's a happy Urban Chiks party all around!! I modified the original pattern just a tad with no problems. I was super thrilled because when I boxed the edges of the bag my squares did not get cut off at all. It was mean to be :)
I'm putting all of my cross-stitch and embroidery goodies in this bag. These little totes hold so much!!! I love them.
I'm working on the Quilty Stitches Sampler along hosted by Little Miss Shabby.
I am loving this cross-stitched Swoon block. I haven't x stitched in years but I faintly remember a teddy bear jumping out of a shamrock that I x stitched onto a sweatshirt. yikes.
If you need a new little bag / tote / case, check out Heidi's tutorial @ Fabric Mutt, if you haven't already. This little cutie packs a big punch. It holds a ton! Plus Heidi is the berries, she's one of the sweetest people I've met in our crafty, quilty blogging community and I am really glad that I can call her my friend.

Cute little boxed bags! Circa 1990 I cross stitched some kittens in pyjamas onto a tshirt and a goose onto a pink jumper. We must be about the same age 😉
