I finished my paper pieced Kitchen Shelf quilt this morning. I have to say that I am very happy with it. I outlined quilted all of the blocks and then did some simple straight line quilting in the negative space. I use the words "straight line" loosely. haha, hehe! I know it's a bit wobbly but I'm okay with that. I'm trying to stop picking apart all of the "bad" things I see in my quilts. It's hard. I am probably my own worst critic. Oh, but what if I'm not...and that's why I point out all of the mistakes first, I guess. What's up with that?
I think I'm going to baste my Granny Squares quilt this weekend and make some strawberry pincushions. How about you? What are your weekend sewing plans?

That is so adorable! I know what you mean about being your own worst critic...I always focus on the flaws instead of celebrating the accomplishment of finishing. Weekend quilting plans-- I am hoping my 501 Rotary Cut Quilt Blocks book arrives today, so I can keep working on my version of the Farmer's Wife Sampler (no template cutting for me). I also hope my teenager will keep helping me set up my own quilting blog we started last night, but she was too hot and tired to help that long. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is darling!!!!

ReplyDeleteThat is so cute, Erin! I wish my kitchen looked that happy!
ReplyDeleteI love it, great job! I think the lines look great and my friend always tells me, "our flaws give us character" since I, like many others, tend to be my own worst critic too.

ReplyDeleteWOW...that is just simply awesome and adorable and what fun to have on your wall! Love the quilting. Your own worst critic...I hear ya, there! Someday I would love to do one like this. Rock on! As for weekend sewing...a baby quilt to quilt and perhaps some doll clothes. We shall see!

ReplyDeleteErin it is so wonderful! Where oh where do you get your patterns? As far as my weekend plans they don't include quilting. :( other than giving away a baby quilt I made.
ReplyDeleteOh, so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the sweetest little quilt ever, Erin! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean. I used to always feel like I had to point out all my mistakes in every project I blogged about, and then one day I thought, what am I doing? Most people probably wouldn't even notice if I wasn't mentioning it. We have to give ourselves more grace.
Really pretty. Well done.
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero!!!
