It had to be done. I could not help it. I have a thing for Elvis! I was working on a quilt today and had to stop to make this Elvis birdie quilt. I have been listening to a lot of oldies when I sew lately and the idea just hit me. I had to do it.
It's not perfect but I'm happy with it. I think the little birds need a place to rest. But I love his blue suede shoes, don't you?
Love his blue suede shoes!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously!! You are amazing with those birdies :)
ReplyDeleteI can just reach my keyboard to type this...am rolling on the floor...laughing so hard...oh. my. goodness. That is too great!!! Especially the blue suede shoes! I had a pair of blue suede boots when I was a senior in high school...just mentioned them to my sister yesterday.
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha...I am loving this! Rockin' for sure! Oh...and are those his audience? hahahahaha.
I have all (I think) of Elvis's record albums. Saw him in concert a few years before he died.
ReplyDeleteAww this is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - love his blue shoes!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that is genius! Very cute.
ReplyDeleteToo Sweet.
ReplyDeletehugs
It's adorable! A little walk down memory lane...... I saw Elvis years ago in concert. Both times in Lake Tahoe. Once before he got fat and then about a year before he died. The last time he was soooo incredibly huge that when he walked on stage no one applauded because we didn't recognize him. It was very sad! I was so embarrased for him. After we all realized it was him we made up for the mistake. He was great and put on a terrific show! I love your rendition and his blue suede shoes, too. I agree that the little birdies look like they are just kind of hanging in air. Maybe toss another limb or two out there for them to perch on?
ReplyDeleteabsolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love this! So cute
ReplyDeleteCustest bird I've seen for a while... Super cool :)
ReplyDeleteAmazeballs. Totally.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteI love the Elvis quilt. We have a running joke in my family about Elvis' Christmas album. I try to give my sister a small Elvis something every year. If you will allow me to, I would love to use your idea for a small quilt for her.
ReplyDeleteVery clever!

ReplyDeleteI love your quilts. Your birdies bring a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteYour Elvis birdie is rocking! The little quiff is to die for :D
ReplyDeleteI admit to having a soft spot for Elvis and this post reminded me of a a certain little madam when she was roughly two and a half doing the toddler dance (you know the one where they stand still and bounce from their knees) to burning love shouting at he top of her voice "hunka hunka hunka hunka" yes they were the only words to the song she knew so they were repeated for the whole song...loudly....where ever we went that had music on!
Must dig out the video and threaten her with posting it on my blog! At 9 now I think she might die of embarrassment!
Love me Tender that is cute!
