Well, I didn't plan on being away from the blog for so long. I wanted to drop in and say hi and show you a couple of things I made recently. If you follow my feed on
Instagram then you probably saw my progress on these. I used
Amy's tutorial again. For this one I cross stitched a little strawberry for the center. I love it!!!
I used one of my very favorite prints for the back. You can find this fabric
here. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out. It's so cute.
I've always liked this Nosegay or Bride's Bouquet block. I decided to make one after seeing
this one on Flickr. I hand pieced the block making the set-in seams very easy and doable. I like that I have better control, by hand sewing, when I am doing more "technical" stuff. I can really see what I am doing. I tried some free motion scallops for the quilting. I drew the first few rows of scallops but I felt much more comfortable just winging it.
Again, I used one of my favorite prints for the back. I bought this years ago and don't know if you can still find it. The selvedge says "antique treasures". I could see making a whole quilt with these blocks using lots of different feedsack fabrics. That would be pretty.
Well I hope you all are having a great week!

Hi, Erin - Your nosegay block turned out just so lovely and utterly adorable! I'm so happy that you were inspired by the antique one I shared on Flickr. Your pot holders are now inspiring ME right back!
Your potholder is adorable! Is the strawberry cross stitch your own pattern? And glad you got the stain out of the nosegay. Always love seeing your handwork.
So very lovely!! I love your sweet pot holder and love that bride's bouquet!! So pretty, you used such beautiful fabrics too!! Hope you have a lovely week-end!! xo Holly
