I'm trying to decide what to do with these blocks. I'm not sure if I should just make it small like this and use it as a wall hanging or if I should use the little bit of Hope Valley I have left and mix it with some other prints to make a bigger, more useful quilt. Any thoughts?
I do think it would make a very cute wall hanging, or a table topper, if you're into using that kind of thing?
ReplyDeleteHope Valley has always been one of my favourites - so pretty. Unfortunately I've never used it though!
I like the idea of a bigger quilt. You can always hang it but you can't cuddle under a wall hanging.
ReplyDeleteI say a bigger quilt. You could have them float randomly on a white/cream background (whichever you've already used).
ReplyDeleteI know don't know, but Hope Valley is still one of my favorites, so large or small, this will be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks and both ideas are good! I have just started to make a single quilt with same blocks using men's shirts. My quilt is going to be a pair for a star quilt I already made with the shirts. x Teje
ReplyDeleteI think I would have then floating on a neutral background as previously suggested! I think that would show the pretty blocks off really well! Look forward to seeing what direction you take!
ReplyDeleteI'd do a bigger quilt but anything you make with those awesome looking blocks will be great. I really love them.
ReplyDeletefill it in with background and make a baby quilt?
ReplyDeleteLarger and floating! They are beautiful !
ReplyDeleteI would, 1. Make another block and add it to the top so that the quilt is symmetrical (because I'm one of those people that likes quilts like that) then 2. back it, quilt it, bind it and set it on my table or hang from a wall (because I am also one of those people that likes to have quilts everywhere I the house and one can only fold up and stack so many lap/bed quilts.)
ReplyDeleteWhatever you decide to do, my friend, will be wonderful- all of your creations are!!
Ooops, should have proofread before I posted... I meant to say "quilts everywhere IN the house" sorry!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I am sure whatever you choose will be beautiful! Have a great day! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute as a wall hanging, but it would also make a great pillow. I was looking at the giant pillows at Joann's the other day and thinking how much my girls would love to have one each to lounge on in the family room.
ReplyDeleteMake it large enough to cuddle under. It could still be hung.
ReplyDeleteI love it as it is but would hang it the other way round. Really love the colours, but hexagonal blocks always pose a problem don't they.
ReplyDeleteFirst, found your blog thru Pinterest...your homemade detergent recipe which I am trying tomorrow!!! I have a scrappy pinwheel quilt I made a few years ago...one of my favs!! You have a wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Keep going!
ReplyDeleteI just made the same pattern (though mine is the 24" block by Jaybird - Ballerina, in a extra-long twin for a YW going off to college.
ReplyDeleteAnyway... my suggestion is to add a common outer strip to all of them to increase their size. Perhaps you have already finished these darling blocks into a project already. Love your work!
