Hi Erin, as usual, your quilts and creations are gorgeous! Just a quick question- totally unrelated to your post but anyway.... When you use precuts do you wash them before sewing? I have my acquired a few charm packs and a layer cake and I dont really want to wash before sewing but Im scared they will run or shrink. Id love your advice? Jo
Hi Jo! When I use precuts I DO wash them. I get a sore throat and headache from sizing so that is why I do it. I lose anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch per piece after washing and drying. If you don't want to prewash I think you will be okay. If you have a lot of reds or dark colors in the pack you may want to wash the quilt with a Shout Color Catcher. You will probably get some shrinkage on your finished washed quilt but I wouldn't think it would be significant. I hope that helps! Thanks-Erin
I'm so excited, thank you so much! I replied to your email earlier :)
