Baby's First Christmas...

I made a new birdie quilt today. It's called Baby's First Christmas. I love all the little keepsakes I have for my kids. I  thought of all of the baby's first ornaments that I have and love. I am always afraid of them breaking. This little quilt won't break. Yay for that!

I wanted to hang a little embroidered sign from the branch that read "Baby's First Christmas 2011" but it was too much. Sometimes you just can't put all of the things you want to on a piece no matter how hard you want to or try to. I guess it's a less is more thing.

I used Moda Basics Dots for back and bound it with green stripes from American Jane's Punctuation line.

I bordered the linen piece with some red and green dot from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird line. Love those prints! I put it for sale in my etsy shop. I also put a few of the other birdie quilts back in the shop too. I have really gone back and forth about selling them. I really love them and I might be strange, but I grow very attached to something I put so much time into making. But I think it will be a good thing.

What are you up to this weekend?

  12. Just adorable! I too get attached to the things I make and sell but I think that's probably a good thing rather than churning out things that are so-so. I love that Early bird line. I have a few of those prints that I've put aside for a quilt for my parents.
