Been A Long Time...Whirlygigs and Whimsy

I took an unexpected quilting and blogging break, but it's been good and much needed. I finished my whirlygig quilt.

I bound it with a solid brown.

I backed it with a "vintage" sheet.(vintage = from Step-Grandma's house).

I really love how it turned out. I gave it to my brother and SIL. Matches their living room perfectly. I had the Arcadia Layer cake forever and my SIL loved it but she wouldn't take it from me when I offered it to her to have, so I made her this so she could enjoy the fabric.

I am also making progress on some more whirlygig's using Hunky Dory by Chez Moi for Moda. I really love this fabric. It's so girly.

I also have my snowball quilt in progress. I'm using Whimsy by Fig Tree for Moda. I love this! It's a slow go though. Everything seems to be lately. But that's okay.

Hope everyone is doing good! Talk to you soon!

  5. Your whirlygig quilt turned out beautifully!!! I love all the colors and the brown binding really sets it off. The sheet looks like it was custom made for the quilt. Can't wait to see your next one when you finish it.
