Flying Geese Pinwheels Crib Quilt
I was able to spend a lot of time sewing this weekend. It was so nice. My husband fed me, took care of everything, and I stayed in my pj's and sewed.
I made this crib quilt for a friend.
The crib sheet was my only inspiration and the rest was up to me. It was so much fun. I saw the block in Eleanor Burns' book Pioneer Sampler, that Jacque let me borrow. It's called Louisiana in the book, it's a 12 in. pinwheel made with 3x6 Flying Geese. The book uses 3 colors. I chose 2.
I am having a hard time getting decent pictures lately. No sunshine. Sorry.
I bound it with Love!(Amy Butler that is)
I am making her a diaper bag to match. I'm excited to see how that turns out. I love the quilt! So I hope the diaper bag looks good too.
this quilt is so cute!! i love it. i am having the same toruble with pictures lately...bad weather/bad light/bad pictures
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cute quilt! Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt. I love it. I'm sure the diaper bag will be just as wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt:)
ReplyDeleteI love the flying geese pinwheels!! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely, lovely. Isn't it amazing just how much you can get done when you have a block of time to go at it? Doing the same project while trying to duck in and out of your quilt room in "spare" moments would have taken you weeks! Blessings be upon your husband!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Erin! I can't wait to see the diaper bag too!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I am a little jealous that your hubby let you stay in pj's all day and took care of everything else! What a guy!
Beautiful!!! What a lucky mama. I can't wait to see the diaper bag :) Christine
ReplyDeleteHey Erin...that is so. dang. cute.! Great job...quilting is wonderful, too! It looks so crisp and clean...awesome. Love the pattern...{grin}. What a nice hubby!

I LOVE this quilt. I've got so many baby quilts to make right now. I think I'll use this pattern for one of them. I'm trying to make them all different, because they're all for women who go to my church, and they'll bring them to church sometimes. Can't be one alike. I love the Amy Butlers in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky baby and mom! I love how crisp the white is with the soft colored pinwheels. I just found you and love what I see. Happy Monday to you! I did a project with white background yesterday and it was fun, my first. What a great non"color" to sew with.
