(3/4 inch Nine Patch Mini)
I have some news I've been wanting to share with you for a little while now. See, when we lost our electric for 2 weeks, back in the end of June, it was during a crazy heat wave and everyone was feeling generally gross, no appetite, nauseous, tired and yucky. It was just the heat. Then we got our electric back (thank you utility workers from all over the country!) and everyone started feeling like their old selves again, everyone but me! In fact I felt worse. Then I noticed these beautiful, strong finger nails growing on my fingers. Mine. Hmmmm, that's weird. My morning coffee gagged me. And I thought ~ coffee, I love you, what is wrong with me? We live out in the boonies and it takes quite a long while on some very curvy roads to get anywhere. So I thought I just "acquired" motion sickness. And then one day I looked at my husband and said "I'm pregnant." He smiled and said "yeah, right". and I said,"No, really, I know it." So I got a test and in less than a millisecond I had a positive test in my hands. And so life changes. Your mind set and plans change. Your emotions change (oh, boy, do they!). We are really happy to have a new baby on the way. I truly believe babies are blessings from above. We are pretty much starting from scratch. I have no baby things anymore except for the one or two things that I saved from my others as keepsakes. At least when you've had children you know that you don't need nearly as much "stuff" as you think you need when it's your first. I've had my first appointment and the midwife was super sweet, except when she said I was "advanced maternal age", umm, what? I chuckled, she didn't. I'm only 34 and mentally I feel like I'm 20 most of the time.

Congratulations Erin!! I had Penny when I was 34 and everything was A-OK. I have to say it is more exhausting than when I had Timothy at 28. Many blessings to your and your family. I hope you have a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery.

WOW Congratulations! Advanced Maternal Age- that sounded like you were 45 or 50 I must have started late as I had both my children after I was 30. Both healthy and full of energy. Good Luck to you!

Congratulations! I am 40 with a 3 year old daughter. The pregnancy in my late 30's was not the best, I think it would have been easier in my 20's. I am so greatful she is here. I wish your family all the best.

Congratulations and God bless. Their "advanced maternal age" cracks me up. Maybe if you were 44. Our baby of eight is 1 tomorrow (lots of blessings here : ) and I'm 39. Wow!! How wonderful for you! Thanks for sharing that great news with all of us! Geez, I'm 42 and have even considered having another child...guess I better really re-think that one...being as you are "advanced" in age and all....makes me ancient! hahaha! LOL! You will be fine! How old are your children? Good luck with your pregnancy and have fun eating all that yummy stuff. By the way, I totally love banana pepper rings!! LOVE 'EM!

Since when is 34 'advanced'? LOL. That's just the BEST news! Congratulations! Sending daily prayers for a blessed pregnancy and a never ending supply of pepper rings! My son loves those and eats them directly out of the jar.

I can sympathise wih the advanced maternal age comment. When I was pregnant with my son at my first appointment
my doctor said "Hmmm, well you're not tooooooo old" emphasizing the tooo as though I was only just young enough to have a normal pregnancy. I was only 30!!!

Congrats!!!!! We too found out we're expecting in March of next year! And boy oh boy. The sickness I had with my first two back in my early 20's hasn't happened. But tired beyond belief. EVERYONE keeps telling me it's my age. Grrr! I'm only 30! Since when did 30 become "advanced"?! Congrats, congrats, congrats! Now, if the heat will just let up.

Congratulations! What a blessing. Advanced maternal age? I don't think so - I had my first at 32 and my second at 36 - that must make me practically a grandma! But I agree - in my head I'm still somewhere between 16 and 23 depending on the day!

Big congratulations! I'm exactly like you, can't stomach coffee for a few months when I'm pregnant and I love it normally. I can't believe 34 is considered "advanced" - I was 35 when I had my first and 38 when I had my last, my sister in law was 45 when she had her 4th!! Most people I know are not starting their families until their mid-30s these days.

When I was expecting our son back in 1971 when I was 25 years old I was horrified to read in my notes that I was described as 'an elderly primate'! Congratulations on your baby news, how wonderful! Enjoy sewing some gorgeous quilts.
Congratulations! I had my last child when I was 34 and yeah when those pregnant teeny-boppers came into the doctors's office they looked at me like I was a grandma. Children are such a blessing and the greatest God-given gift.

Oh girl, have you tried dill pickles and BBQ sauce??? It's to die for! And I even love it when I'm not pregnant. You already know how I feel about this little one so I won't ramble on here about it....but again, congratulations!! I am SO VERY excited for you and your family!

I had my last child, my daughter, when I was 38. I went to the doctor, and overheard the midwife referring to me as an "elderly multigravida" to the student coming in to the room with her. I am in the medical field so I understood why she would say that, but it still made me mad. I am 54 now with a 16 year old daughter. Between my hormones and hers, it can get really interesting around here, but she is the joy of my life :)

What a wonderful blessing! I had my last baby (now 14) the day that my oldest (who was 15 years old at the time) started high school! Mine was due to a 2-week-long ice storm that we managed to survive, with the aid of a generator (and sending the two kids to my mother's!) Funny thing was, we had been "trying" for *years*, and yet God chose that time to bless us. I'm so happy for you, and will keep you in my prayers!! Oh, and I was 34 at the time, too! :D
