Small Squares Finished

I finished my small squares quilt. I really, really love this one. I used the last of my Amy Butler Charm fabric , not one little scrap left. I also used Amy Butler's Daisy Chain and Heather Bailey's Fresh Cut.

Bound it with Fresh Cut also. I made a pieced back which I am really enjoying adding to my quilts. I used Kona Bleached White for the sashing and borders. I was going to wait until I posted more on my solids quilt to give my opinion on the Kona but I"ll say it here too. I LOVE Kona. I am from now on converted. It washed and crinkled beautifully.

In my last post I said that there was a pucker on the back, and after washing and drying it's not noticeable. I really had to search for it, but I'm still keeping this one. I love it too much.

Do you grow attached to your quilts? Let me know!

Friday Night Sew In .... July .... What I Did

For the Friday Night Sew In I finished these to make a table runner like this one.

I also got the binding on this new quilt and have a little bit more than half of it sewn down. I'll work on the rest this evening. That's all I have for the Sew- In ... I think it was productive.

New Quilt, Etsy and Friday Night Sew-in

I've been working on this quilt for the past few days. I finished quilting it today while listening to really great music. It's funny how my foot would go faster or slower depending on what song was playing.

I'll show a pic tomorrow after I get it bound ( hopefully).

I intended for this to be my first Etsy item for my new shop. BUT after I finished quilting it I turned it over to admire the very cute pieced back and there it was....a pucker!!!!! I haven't had a pucker in soooo long. Why oh why now? Well ain't that just the way it goes?! So this little baby gets to live here. Darn ;)

So tonight for Friday Night Sew-In my goals are to bind this, make a table runner similar to this one, and start another quilt that is brewing for the new shop. We'll see how much I can do after everyone goes to bed. I'll post tomorrow for the Sew-In and show this quilt and the back! I love it.

I'm going to make another like it for the shop and also post a tutorial on how I made it.

Have a great weekend!

Little By Little.....HD Whirlygig Progress

ignore wrinkles ;)

I decided to add borders to the Hunky Dory Whirlygig quilt. So I sewed them on today.

I rummaged through my bag of "vintage sheets" and found this one. I think it will look great as a backing for the quilt.

Now the next challenge finding the time to get it basted, quilted and bound!

Slowly but surely!!!

More of the same...

I have not had ANY time for sewing lately.
I was feeling desperate, starting to shake, having withdrawal.

I grabbed my closest scraps and made a mini. Kind of like this one that I gifted to Jacque! Using the no waste technique I used for the smokey stars. I'm almost finished with these little scraps, but I feel a Jacob's Ladder mini with the remainder of these would be too cute. So that's what I'll do to finish them up.

Hope all is well and that I can report on some major sew-age soon!!!!
